It was my first part-time job. I was a waitress in the buffet restaurant of International Evergreen Hotel in Keelung, Taiwan. Although it's an exhausted work due to hundreds of tourists and travels having breakfasts or dinner every day, I had worked there for over one year. I like this job because I can meet many people from different countries and in fact, it's really a good chance for me to train my physical strength and greeting skills. Moreover, a year working in here let me skim over the operations of a hotel roughly.
Sixi Hotpot
It was my last job before I took a program to study in US. It's a luxurious hotpot which sell fresh seafood and expensive imported meats. Guess what! They are also popular with Sichuan food and various alcohol drinks and wines! In this hotpot restaurant, I met many rich customers and make social intercourse with them. I also learned how to recognize all kinds of alcohols and tried to remember our frequent customers ' habits. Although working here was not so tired at all, it required lots of carefulness and professional knowledge.
Vasa Pizzeria
After I came to Taipei for my university, I changed my part-time job into an American restaurant which is mainly rely on selling delicious pizzas. It was more active than hotel. The most important thing to work in this restaurant is cooperation. Everyone has their own task and we also helped each other in a fast and efficient way. I like the mood when I was working with my co-workers.
School Lunch
It's September 10th, Thursday. I went to school for a great event. It's not only for a free lunch, but also for we to meet more people from different countries. Our professors and guest speakers were also there helping and communicating with us. I introduced myself to local students in U.S. and even from Switzerland. We chatted and ate sandwich together. I was shy of meeting a lot of people at first, however, my classmates are all so kind and enthusiastic. The school lunch gave me a valuable chance to meet and communicate with more people. Moreover, it let me see different cultures. I really had a good time there!
